The Role

Role and Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Provide expert technical support in infrastructure domain area to achieve a high degree of Customer delight Service Level Agreement (SLA) & Process Compliance.

  • Perform business impact analysis and risk assessments to reduce the likelihood of significant service outage or disasters.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Administration of linux Redhat, Ubuntu, Debian, Centos and Suse

  • HA cluster administration.

  • HA cluster administration (pacemaker and Hawk).

  • Knowledge of linux administration on x86, power(ppcle) and mainframe(s390x) architectures.

  • Extensive knowledge of bash scripting

  • Patch click management and automations with Redhat Satellite and puppet

  • Thorough understanding of DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP protocols

  • User and permissions management

  • LVM and LVM-mirror administration

  • Monitoring with zabbix, grafana, dynatrace, nagios.

  • Upgrade of rhel 7, 8 and 9 distributions. Debian and other linux.

  • Hardening of operating system and native services (http, sendmail, nfs, samba, etc).

  • DNS configuration (bind)

  • Disk RAID knowledge

  • Knowledge of cloud in AWS and GCP

  • SSH tunneling and reverse proxy knowledge

  • Multipathing and disk management

  • Security policy implementation using OpenSCAP

  • RHCSA, RHCE or LPIC certifications are preferred.

  • Scripting languages (PowerShell, bash, python)

  • Linux server administration and team management.

  • Good communication skills, Need to participate in client meetings.

  • Handle regular day to day IT Infra operations.

  • Installation of systems OS ,Applications and break fixing of H/W and S/W issues .

  • Working on Service Desk tickets.

  • Coordinating with IT stake holders to fix the issues.

  • Participate in internal/external audits to showcase the IT compliance status.

  • Perform the IT related task and update the status higher management on regularly.

  • Participating in Day/Weekly status review meetings

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Experience in Operating Systems tuning and configurations.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI)

Required Professional and Technical Expertise:

  • A minimum of 7+ years of overall experience in IT Linux / Unix Domain with proven experience in Unix Operations.

  • Client Meetings, External Audit, Microsoft Linux OS Installation, Linux, Ubuntu, Debian Environment, Server Administration- Linux, System Administration

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise:

  • BE/ BTech/MCA/Diploma.

Required Technical and Professional Experience

• Deep expertise within specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) • Enterprise IT application experience • Hands-on experience in at least one of the following: software development, DevOps engineering, systems administration, or systems architecture in public cloud AWS domain • In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems • Must have experience driving for engineering solutions and working across teams • Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce conclusions and responses. • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written • Strong process improvement experience

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• In depth knowledge of Amazon cloud hosting architecture with experience with AWS and Azure is a bonus • Exceptional judgment and decision-making abilities • Familiar with a variety of IT concepts, practices, and procedures • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models • Logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
