Required Skills and Experience

The position holder will be required to:

  1. Provide technical thought leadership, subject matter expertise and consultancy/ advice for across the Enterprise Security Cyber Protection portfolio.

  2. Provide coaching, guidance and leadership to other Technical Specialists to support their professional development.

  3. Develop, contribute, uplift and maintain support documentation, procedures and standards.

  4. Perform “business-as-usual” technology management and support functions across the products and services within the Cyber Protection portfolio.

  5. Contribute to, and develop relevant metrics and indication reporting relevant to the products and services managed within the Network Security portfolio.

  6. Perform problem diagnosis and technical expertise to develop options and solutions to specific technical problems. Develop, contribute to and deliver remediation and recovery activities.

  7. Be available to respond to out of hours support escalations to other team members where required.

Critical Experience:

  1. Experience in a Large Enterprise Environment (more than 10,000 users) across different geographies

  2. Minimum of 12+ years IT Security related experience

  3. Strong skills with Network Security products (Firewalls – CheckPoint, F5 and Cloud native firewalls)

  4. Strong WAF skills (Akamai)

  5. Expert level networking and device-based troubleshooting skills.

  6. Strong level and proven experience with enterprise level Cloud based technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)

A proven record of successfully scoping, shaping and delivering sound IT Security Solutions.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

It is expected that the role holder will have the following experience:

Deep technical skills (plan, build and run) across a broad range of infrastructure and Security technologies with skills and experience with the following product sets and principles.

  • Network Security products (Firewalls – Akamai, CheckPoint and F5)

  • Internet Proxy Access Services (zScaler/McAfee)

  • Networks. Expert level understanding of Network routing, load balancing and switching.

  • Cloud Based technologies (AWS/Azure, Google Cloud)

  • Experience with leading a team of IT Engineers and/or technical teams will be highly advantageous.

  • Ability to be a contributing project team member and deliver complex solutions within large scale projects.

  • Able to identify and deliver automation uplift across platforms to improve service availability and delivery.

  • Able to influence stakeholders where appropriate to understand security controls and aspects.

  • Ability to converse with both end-users and IT employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Good understanding problem, change and incident management.

  • Good understanding of all aspects of the systems/software development lifecycle.

  • Technical knowledge of programming, system design, IT infrastructure and database concepts;

Certification and Qualification:

  1. Tertiary qualification in an IT discipline or related field

  2. IT Security related certification (Eg: CISM, CISSP etc..)
